If anybody feels like working out a proper upgrade path for Promise v2 on PHP 8.4+, we're more than happy to accept any contributions. In the meantime, upgrading to Promise v3 is probably the easier way.

Which version of Promise are you using? We've released a fix for it in v3
Hanmac commentedon Apr 17, 2026
@WyriHaximus from the line number it's a v2 version
it is fixed in v2 too: 501b4aa
but there isn't a 2.x release with this.

@WyriHaximus Could you please tag a fix for v2.x? It's used in Composer and triggers this warning.Nevermind,
composer self-updatefixed it, Composer has been updated to v3.x: composer/composer@4ad1989clue commentedon May 25, 2026
This has already been fixed a while ago with #264 for v3 (and to some degree with #269 for v2). Closing this as duplicate.
I hope this helps! 👍 If so, consider supporting this project, for example by becoming a sponsor ❤️

@clue like I said:
It would have been easy to make a 2.x release to fix that, but no one does

Sorry @Hanmac, but it would have been easy to check the provided links to understand why it isn't as easy as you may think, but no one does.
In particular, see #269 (review) and friends.
