⚠️ Before posting ⚠️

  • This is a bug, not a question or an enhancement.
  • I've searched for similar issues and didn't find a duplicate.
  • I've written a clear and descriptive title for this issue, not just "Bug" or "Crash".
  • I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add the Nextcloud Calendar upcoming event widget to the home screen.
  2. Have an event scheduled for the current day.
  3. Allow the date to change to the following day.
  4. Check the widget without opening the Nextcloud app.
  5. Observe that the widget still displays the previous day's event and the date associated with its last refresh.
  6. Open the Nextcloud app.
  7. Observe that the widget updates.

Expected behaviour

The widget should automatically refresh when the date changes and display the correct next upcoming event, including the current date.

Actual behaviour

The widget displays stale information from the previous day, including the date from its last refresh. It only updates after opening the Nextcloud app.
