Removed public-apis and Codecademy/docs from the list of projects in How to choose (and contribute to) your first open source project. The first one does not have any good-first-issues or -pull requests open. The second one does not seek for open contributions anymore.

Codecadamy/docs is archived.

Editing an existing topic or collection
I'm suggesting these edits to an existing topic or collection:

I checked out two of the presented repositories but I couldn't find a good-first-issue to contribute to (see reasons above). In my case, when I looked for good-first-issues, I searched in github explore to find the tag somewhere, and then I came across this Collection. The collection does not contain many repos and the ones I tried are outdated. This is frustrating for people wanting to help. I suggest to remove the outdated ones I spotted. There might be even more. I am not aware of repos to add to this collection - unfortunately. I'm also (still) looking for projects to contribute to :)
