The page language follows the catalog that matches the scenario. languageNames supplies the BCP 47 tag (en from the English catalog). If that catalog has no tag, html[lang] stays as it was. The matcher lives in lib/document-language.js so the browser bundle does not import Node's fs.

Send success, send failure, and a rejected attachment are written to #composerStatus. #mailViewStatus still announces the opened thread, and the reading pane is not a live region. Those three strings are in the catalog.

The recipient remove control stays visible at 24×24. Backspace still removes only the last chip, and the accessible name is unchanged.

Keyboard focus on the mail/assistant divider uses the same line as hover. The handle uses --Colors-Icon-Strong. The design-system handle is black, which is 1.13:1 on the dark seam (#0B1223). Icon-strong is about 18:1 there. The separator's name is unchanged.

Reduced motion turns off .email--arrive, scrolls with behavior: 'auto' in scrollToEmail, reply, and draft insert, and does not autoplay thinking.riv. Toast and typing-dot reductions are unchanged. Motion is unchanged when reduced motion is not requested.

Testing

npm test covers the document language, the three composer announcements (including that an opened thread stays put), the 24px remove control, the divider line and dark-mode handle contrast, and reduced motion versus the default.

In the app:

  • English scenario: the document language stays en.
  • Send a message, force a send error, and attach a disallowed file. Each outcome should be announced, and an open thread's "Opened" status should remain.
  • Add a recipient. The remove control should be visible without hover and at least 24×24.
  • Tab to the split divider in dark mode. The line should match hover, and the handle should be light against the near-black seam.
  • With prefers-reduced-motion: reduce, new mail should not animate in, scrolling should jump, and the thinking indicator should not play.

The page language follows the catalog tag for the scenario. Send and attachment outcomes are announced without clearing an opened thread. The recipient remove control stays visible at 24px, the split divider keeps a focus line that clears dark-mode contrast, and reduced motion drops arrival, smooth scroll, and the thinking animation.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The pull request adds document-language resolution and includes the resolved language in /api/config. The client validates and applies that language. Composer outcomes use localized status announcements. Reduced-motion preferences affect scrolling and animations. Recipient remove controls and split-divider focus styling change. Tests cover these behaviors, and the checklist marks M2, M4, M6, M9, and M10 Fixed.
