macOS(Intel): Can not clone/fetch/pull/push with `v2026.19`

Version 2026.19 on OSX Intel (x64) gives this error on pull:

An error occurred trying to start process '/Applications/SourceGit.app/Contents/MacOS/setsid' with working directory
Bad CPU type in executable

2026.18 works fine.

Interesting...

In the published 2026.19 git did not work, not the pull and SourceGit could not even see files with changes.

In this Artifact everything seems to work fine.
However the interesting thing is that OSX does not ask me to reautorize this new file because the app was changed (Security stuff)
Its works as if the app comes from a "Known Developer" something that did not happen on any other build.
Weird, i suppose you did not start "signing" the app with a valid apple developer certificate.

Anyhow, this artifact works fine.

Note

If someone encounters the same problem and does not want to download non-release packages, they can directly delete the file SourceGit.app/Contents/MacOS/setsid.

The SourceGit.app/Contents/MacOS/setsid is a macOS port (simplified) of setsid command on Linux. It remove unnecessary commandline arguments because SourceGit does not need them. If you deleted this file, SourceGit will disable the graceful termination feature for clone/fetch/pull/push to maintain consistency with the behavior of previous versions.

In the published 2026.19 git did not work, not the pull and SourceGit could not even see files with changes.

It's because that SourceGit found that the setsid file exists, then use it to spawn git process (but this file is only compiled to arm64 (Apple Silicon) platform. My mistake).

You can solve this issue with one of following ways

• Remove the SourceGit.app/Contents/MacOS/setsid, then SourceGit will directly spawn git process for clone/fetch/pull/push like before. The graceful termination feature is unavailable then.
• Download the latest CI build from GitHub Action
• Compile the setsid yourself with clang -arch x86_64 tools/setsid-macos/setsid.c -o /Application/SourceGit.app/Contents/MacOS/setsid -mmacosx-version-min=13.0

This BUG only exists in package https://github.com/sourcegit-scm/sourcegit/releases/download/v2026.19/sourcegit_2026.19.osx-x64.zip and there is a workaround (just remove it) to make SourceGit works as before. So I will not publish a new release immediately.

I'll keep this issue opened until the next release. Hope people facing the same problem can see it directly
