Related proposal issue #7899 adds two details that are not in this discussion yet.

The request covers both stable Zed and Zed Preview. Both channels use the same official zed://ssh/... scheme, so the Zed channel registered as the operating system handler opens the remote worktree. It does not ask for a separate Preview scheme.

It also covers both existing remote-link modes: a desktop-managed SSH alias and a server-advertised SSH host. In either case, the goal is to open the exact remote folder while preserving the host and path handling used by the current remote editor flow.

I am preserving those details here before the source issue closes during an automated policy pass. The complete proposal remains available in issue #7899. This handoff does not mean the Zed integration is implemented or fixed.

I've just noticed the new Open in VSCode feature that seems to be working for remote worktrees too. I've been using Zed as my primary editor for the past 2 years and their SSH remote development works very well.

Can't wait for T3 code to implement this simple yet powerful feature.

Now opening the remote workspace in Zed requires manually launching the app, finding the server, and copy-pasting the path from T3 Code.

Just added it as a part of #8866, hopefully they take a look soon! Agree it's a very useful feature to have, would use it every day at work if it was available!
