Describe the bug
Description:
After I uploaded a new mod about 36 hours ago from posting this and then when I tried installing that mod through the Modrinth App (or downloading it from the website and then manually adding it to my modlist), the installed mods list only shows a generic JAR icon instead of the project’s uploaded icon.
Steps to reproduce
- Publish a mod on Modrinth with a proper project icon (e.g., emi-chipped-integration).
- Install the mod into an instance using the Modrinth App.
- Open the installed mods list in the app.
- Notice that the mod’s icon does not appear — only a generic placeholder is shown.
Expected behavior
The Modrinth App should display the project’s uploaded icon in the installed mods list, consistent with how it appears on the Modrinth website and in-game and for other mods as well.
Actual behavior:
The app shows a generic JAR icon instead of the project’s icon.
Additional context
The icon displays correctly on the Modrinth website and in-game (pack.png), so this seems to be an app UI limitation rather than a mod configuration issue.
There is an existing thread related to this, but it’s somewhat dated. I’m opening a new issue to highlight that the problem still persists. If it resolves on its own in the next few days, I’ll close this report, but otherwise I’d appreciate it if the developers could take a look.
