v2.331 runner fails authentication with 404

the runner, on a fresh install, reports 404 when attempting to register

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. download v2.331 for windows
2. run ./config.cmd with url and token params
3. See error

I'm seeing the same issue when trying to configure a new organization runner. Is there a known workaround?

Edit: In my case, the issue was that the registration token had expired. I believe they're only valid for an hour.

I tried again a day later and everything worked first time, no errors. Whatever it was, it was intermittent.

Same issue.
Token is valid as it is retrieved by the script 2 lines above.
This is a hard one to troubleshoot

Edit: Also registration token issue here.

🤔 the runner didn't make any change around registration flow.
Can you guys share your runner diag log when you hit the error?

I'm setting up new self-hosted runner and see the same error. The API https://api.github.com/actions/runner-registration returns 404 (runner ./config.sh is executedf from docker container) and it's also 404 when I open it outside of the container as my regular user.

Now it seems to work, I've tried to recreate the whole environment from scratch, using latest version 331, click 'Create new self-hosted runner' on the page and used the fresh access token. In previous attempts I might have used a stale token.

this makes sense. I think I had my page open for like 4 or 5 hours, because I went off to play a game and came back to finish, without refreshing the page.
