We have forked this project to https://github.com/ddev/commit-message-checker where it will be maintained.

We use it in DDEV

@rfay @eliashaeussler Hi. I appreciate the fork, but I have a few questions:

• How did you intend to release a new version of the actions plugin to the GitHub Marketplace? Under a new name, or do you have admin permissions on the existing plugin?
• As a fork, PRs opened on branches pushed to the forked repo will be opened in this original repo here. Do you have maintainer permissions on this repo here? If not, how do you intend to merge PRs?
• The forked repo has no issue tracker enabled. Oversight or do you want people to still open issues here?

• I guess we need a new name for the marketplace plugin, or do you think it's actually important to use the marketplace? I haven't really seen the marketplace to offer much value over just the repo.
• I removed https://github.com/ddev/commit-message-checker from the fork network (thanks for the prod)
• The forked repo now has issues enabled.

If you end up being active in the forked repo, I'll grant you increased privileges there.

ddev/commit-message-checker@v3.0.0 is out - first release of the fork since this repo went quiet in 2022. Runtime bumped from Node 16 to Node 24; all inputs behave identically.

Migration is a one-line swap:
