Which publications? And why would the spec add content to external publications?

where in the world of system transparency would it be useful to link something to a publication, paper, article, and blogs?
And which entity would you add this link to?

could you provide a XML/JSON example where such information would make sense in a real world example?

@mrutkows asked me to review this last week. He asked for new categories for the external references enums. These are the ones I think should be added as already linked in model cards: https://cyclonedx.org/use-cases/ai-models-and-model-cards/. Please, could you provide a practical example (XML or JSON) where any of the proposed new external reference types would be used in a real world example?

@jkowalleck Hey Jan, I assigned this to me and we will discuss at the ML work group and add to the discussion here.

@HesAnEasyCoder Let's firm up the argument for any new values at the work group and see if we can provide distinguishing descriptions and justifications grounded in model cards and provide concrete example here.

Ideally, the proposal should include names of the enums along with a detailed description of each in the meta:enum section. Use cases on how and why they would be used.

Additionally, flushing out the nouns used would be ideal. For example paper I would assume to be an academicPaper and not a newspaper.

These are categories not currently covered under "other."

meta: enums:
publication: the final, official state of a Paper once it has been accepted by an external body (like a conference or journal) or released via an official repository.
paper: formal, peer-reviewed (or peer-ready) document that provides a deep dive into an engineering or scientific breakthrough.
article: A less formal version of a paper or a deep dive into a specific software feature.
blogs: a "Top-of-Funnel"document designed for speed and broad visibility.
