Extension transaction progress has interesting freakout whenever transacting "*"

Running blueprint -install/-remove "*" freaks out the progress bar in wonderful ways, somehow everything installs fine though.

This is probably something that Shellcheck isn't warning us about. I'd like us to either block install "*" or detect it in a way that actually has some decent behavior.
